A serene sonic journey is led by Tsang Man-tung, an interdisciplinary contemporary artist and singing bowl musician, amidst the tranquil ambiance of the Great Lawn, WKCD Art Park. Through the harmonious resonance of singing bowls, guided breathing exercises and sonic relaxation, this experience gently guides us to delve deep within ourselves, reconnecting our body and mind and finding solace in inner peace.
Transitioning from soothing sounds to profound silence, this immersive journey offers a truly relaxing experience from within.
Tsang Man-tung
Tsang Man-tung is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates theatre, visual arts, music and arts education. He has received numerous local and international awards for scenography, including the Award for Best Artist (Theatre) at the 2008 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards and the Silver Prize for Set Design at 2017 World Stage Design with the dance drama Storm Clouds. He is renowned for his conceptual and minimalist style, shown in his ritual theatre works The Light of Metempsychosis (2021), Ashtanga (2023) and Cankramati (2024). In 2010, Tsang founded Allpamama, an organisation that integrates different artistic media through the practice of singing bowls to achieve a meditative state that maintains a balance between the body and its emotions. He released his first singing bowl album, The Seed of Sound: Singing Bowl, in 2018 and published his book The Bowl of Enlightenment in 2020.
- The workshop will be conducted in Cantonese with English translation.
- Holders of the HKPAX Full Pass are eligible to attend. Space is limited, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Online pre-registration is required.
- Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for sitting meditation.
- It is recommended to bring your own big towel or yoga mat as participants will be sitting on the lawn.
- Feel free to bring your own towels and/or scarves for warmth if needed.
- Remember to bring your own drinking water.
- Kindly refrain from any audio or video recording during the session.
