About HKPAX

A Platform for Artistic Exchange and Collaboration
Mission
The Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX, pronounced “Hong-Kong-pax”) is a professional networking platform that seeks to foster and deepen exchange and collaboration among the global network of performing arts institutions and professionals in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Asia and beyond.
Vision
Sponsored by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China and organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, HKPAX reinforces Hong Kong’s position as an international hub for East-meets-West arts and cultural exchange. We aspire for Hong Kong to serve as a gateway for the world to engage with Chinese and Asian cultures, and for HKPAX to act as a catalyst for a more connected and resilient global performing arts ecosystem. In the process, we aim to strengthen the local performing arts practitioners’ capacity to engage the public, while offering the public a taste of the current trends on view at HKPAX.
Values
The “X” symbol in the HKPAX logo represents convergence and creative intersection – where a spectrum of exciting ideas and diverse cultures meet. This spirit shapes HKPAX’s four programme pillars of Xplore, Xchange, Xperience, and Xpand. Together, these values inspire multiple formats for engagement, from showcases and pitching sessions to talks, exhibitions, and both structured and informal networking opportunities.
How We Make It Happen
The inaugural HKPAX in 2024 welcomed over 1,600 arts leaders and practitioners from 60 regions and countries, alongside more than 32,000 local audience members. Building from this foundation, the next edition of HKPAX in 2026 embraces the theme “Passion in Motion”, framing the performing arts as a dynamic, vibrant, and ever-evolving field – one that is driven by curiosity, debate, collaboration, and the movement of ideas, people, and practices across disciplines and borders.
Exciting opportunities await. Join us from 9 to 13 October 2026 for a memorable performing arts season in Hong Kong’s robust, culturally diverse cityscape!
